1. Maine Coon

The Maine Coon Cat is one of the oldest natural cat breeds found in North America, more specifically in the natives of the U.S. state of Maine.

3. Scottish Fold

The Scottish Fold cat is a breed of domestic cat with a natural dominant-gene mutation that affects cartilage throughout the body. 

That causes the ears to fold and bend them forward and downward towards the front of the head, which helps the cat describe them as owl-like appearance.

The original Scottish Fold was a white barn cat named Susie found at a farm near Coupar Angus in Perthshire, Scotland, in 1961. Her ear had an unusual fold in their middle, which make her resemble an owl.

 When she gave birth to kittens, two of them were born with the folded ears, and one of them was acquired by William Ross, a neighboring farmer and a cat-fancier. 

Ross registered this breed with the Governing Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) in the United Kingdom in 1966 and then started to breed Scottish Fold kittens with the help of geneticist Pat Turner.

This Breeding program produced 76 kittens in the first three years, of which 42 of them were born with the folded ears, and 34 were born with straight ears. The conclusion from this was that the ear mutation is due to the simple dominant gene.
